UH Sports Circle of Honor
Toshio "Bob" Nagatani, native of Chicago, Ill., was a cum laude graduate of Harvard who came to UH to do graduate work in sociology. He was recruited to be a volunteer publicist and statistician for football. When the UH Sports Information Office was formed in 1968, he served as chief statistician/play-by-play typist for football and basketball. He was also an accomplished businessman who produced award-winning media guides and donated $1 million to build the Nagatani Academic Center for UH student-athletes.
