UH Sports Circle of Honor
Charles Ushijima was responsible for the building of Rainbow Stadium, now known as Les Murakami Stadium, and was known for his volunteer work with a number of sports groups, but mostly for his direction of Hui Kokua Kinipopo, the UH baseball booster group. He was honored with the UH Rainbow Service Award for his work. The award was renamed the Charles Ushijima Service Award, in his honor, in 1991.
