Student-Athlete Services

The Student-Athlete Services office is committed to each student-athlete’s success in his or her academic, athletic and personal careers.

Student-Athlete Services serves as the Athletics department primary contact for Admissions, Student Housing, Financial Aid Services, Bookstore and Cashier’s Office. The three-member staff is housed in the new $4.5 million Nagatani Academic Center.

The primary purpose of the Student-Athletes Services office is to ensure that all student-athletes meet NCAA Eligibility Center academic standards. The office works side-by-side with the coaching staff of each sport to assist with each student-athletes admission to the University. They evaluate transcripts and test scores for all prospective high school and transfer student-athletes to ensure that each student-athlete has enough units to meet all of the school’s academic standards, as well as the NCAA academic standards.

The Student-Athlete Services office processes and monitors all scholarships for student-athletes, student managers and graduate student assistants, while also administering summer school and post-eligibility aid.

The staff assists student-athletes in obtaining on-campus housing and meal plans, and also works closely with the Bookstore in providing books for scholarship student-athletes.

The Student-Athlete Services office administers the Big West Conference Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund, which assists with summer school and other financial needs.

The University of Hawai‘i’s goals are not only to provide its student-athletes with resources to be successful in school and ultimately graduate from UH Manoa, but also to make it one of the most remarkable experiences of their lives. The Student-Athlete Services serves to support each student-athlete in his or her academic and athletic endeavors.
