UH Sports Circle of Honor
Longtime sports reporter Ann Miller worked for the Honolulu Advertiser and Honolulu Star-Advertiser for 34 years from 1980-2014. She was the primary beat writer for women’s volleyball and covered all three of UH’s NCAA championships in 1982, ’83, and ’87. A pioneer in Hawai‘i sports journalism, she was among the first female reporters in the Advertiser’s sports department. She co-authored “Wahine Volleyball: 40 Years Coaching Hawai‘i’s Team” and also covered the beat for several other UH teams. She joined the Association for Women in Sports Media as its inaugural convention and served as treasurer and board chair for 12 years. Its service award is named after her.
