UH Sports Circle of Honor
Tom Henderson starred for Rainbow basketball from 1972-74, setting school records for career scoring average (20.0) and career steals (160). He was named an All-American by The Sporting News, the Associated Press (AP), United Press International (UPI), NBA Coaches, Basketball Weekly and Street & Smith’s Basketball Yearbook. After playing as a member of the 1972 U.S. Olympic team, Henderson enjoyed a career in the NBA as a first-round selection of the Atlanta Hawks.
