Biography

2007 (Senior): Started all 13 games at strong safety… third on team with 77 tackles (38 solo, 39 assisted)…also had 5.5 tackles for loss (-35 yards)…three interceptions on the season…recorded six or more tackles in six games…also credited with four quarterback hurries and four pass break-ups…posted career-high 11 tackles (4 solo) at Louisiana Tech (Sept. 8)… recorded one interception, one sack  and two tackles-for-loss in win against Boise State (Nov. 23).


2006 (Junior): Started all 14 games at strong safety...posted a season-high 10 tackles (5 solo) at Alabama (Sept. 2)...picked off a pass and returned it 31 yards against San Jose State (Nov. 18)...second on the team with three forced fumbles...credited with four quarterback hurries...academic all-WAC.

Prior to UH: Attended Blinn Junior College in Texas for three years...was twice selected to the all-conference first team...named the defensive captain his sophomore season.

Prep: A 2003 graduate of Victoria Memorial High School in Texas...lettered in football and baseball...twice earned all-district honors in football...belonged to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization.

Personal: Born in Victoria, Texas...plans to major in political science...has two sisters...parents are Gay and Gary Patek of Victoria, Texas.
