Biography

2008 (Senior): An all-WAC selection for the second consecutive season, earning second team honors…led all defensive lineman with 73 tackles, including 43 solo…led the team in tackles-for-loss (16.5), sacks (9.0), quarterback hurries (11) and forced fumbles (4)…also had three pass breakups…season-high 10 tackles at Oregon State (Sept. 13)…recorded a sack in six consecutive games, including a season-high 2.5 sacks at Utah State (Nov .1)…two sacks, two forced fumbles and two quarterback hurries in win over Nevada (Oct. 25)…eight tackles and a forced fumble in win over No. 22 Fresno State, UH’s first-ever road win over a ranked squad…also had seven tackles and one sack versus nationally ranked Cincinnati…named academic all-WAC.

2007 (Junior): Appeared in all 13 games and made one start at defensive end...selected first-team all-WAC...recorded seven sacks and 8.5 tackles-for-loss...ranked third in the WAC and 68th nationally, averaging .54 sacks per game...totaled 34 tackles, one quarterback hurry and one safety...had five tackles at UNLV (Sept. 15) and Nevada (Nov. 16)...two sacks against Charleston Southern (Sept. 22)...academic all-WAC.

2006 (Sophomore): Played in all 14 games off the bench and on special teams...recorded a pair of tackles in both the UNLV (Sept. 16) and Eastern Illinois (Sept. 30) games...academic all-WAC.

Prior to UH: Redshirted freshman year at Colorado before earning a letter at Fresno City College, where he was an honorable mention all-Valley performer.

Prep: A 2004 graduate of Campbell High School on O‘ahu...lettered in football and track...was a first-team all-state pick in football...selected to the Principal’s List.

Personal: Born in Anchorage, Ak...majoring in sociology ...has one younger sister...parents are Sheila and Oma Veikune of Wahiawa, O‘ahu.
