Biography

2001 (Senior): Played in all 12 games, started 11... a second-team all-WAC selection...compiled six games in double digit tackles, including his last five...missed one start due to a leg injury after a motorcycle accident earlier that week...finished third on the team in tackles (114) and fifth in the WAC in tackles per game (9.5)...forced three fumbles, one against Fresno State that led to the winning touchdown in the final seconds...also returned three punts for 16 yards...blocked a field goal attempt against UTEP that kept the Miners scoreless in the first half on Oct. 13.

2000 (Junior): Played in 11 games, started nine at safety…named second-team all-WAC…led the team and co-led the WAC in interceptions (7)…finished second on the team in tackles (112)…finished tied for sixth in the WAC in tackles per game (9.6)…recorded two games with multiple interceptions, two against Nevada on Nov. 11, and two against Wisconsin on Nov. 25…named the team’s co-Most Inspirational Player…recorded five games in double-digit tackles…had a career-high 19 tackles at Rice on Oct. 21…finished tied for third in the WAC in forced fumbles (3)…also finished tied for eighth in the WAC in passes defended (10)…had three interceptions that led to touchdowns and one that led to a field goal.

1999 (Sophomore):
Played and started 10 games at safety…sat out the first two games with a knee injury…finished sixth on the team with 69 tackles, including three for-a-loss (-4)…had a sack (-1) against Washington State…recovered fumbles at SMU and San Jose State…forced a fumble against Washington State...also ahd two quarterback hurries and two PBUs...had five tackles and one PBU in the Jeep Oahu Bowl against Oregon State.

1998 (Freshman):
Played in nine games as a true freshman…started five at free safety…had 23 total tackles, one for-a-loss (-13)…caused a fumble at Fresno State on Nov. 14…recovered a fumble and returned it 28 yards at UTEP on Oct. 31.

Prep:
A 1998 graduate of Waianae High on Oahu…earned three letters in baseball and two each in football and basketball…a first team all-state selection in football…also named the team’s player-of-the-year in baseball and defensive player-of-the-year in football in football.

Personal:
Born in Lihue, Kauai…also plays outfield for the Rainbow baseball team…has two younger brothers…parents are Margie Jackson of Waianae, Oahu and the late Nathaniel Jackson.
