Biography

2001: Played in 11 of 12 games, started eight at "stub" linebacker...finished third among linebackers in tackles (51)...had five tackles-for-loss (-13)...also had one sack (-7) at Nevada on Sept. 22...recorded a career-high 11 tackles against San Jose State on Nov. 3...scored his first collegiate touchdown on a 90-yard interception return against UTEP on Oct. 13...also had five passes defended.

2000: Played in five games, mostly on special teams.

1999: Redshirted. A member of the scout team...hampered by an ankle injury.

1998: Earned his first letter as a regular on special teams.

Prep: A 1998 graduate of Iolani School in Honolulu...earned two letters in football under the tutelage of Wendell Look...on the honor roll...began his prep career at Cascade High School in Everett, Wash., where he lettered in football his sophomore year.

Personal: Born in Honolulu...has one younger brother...parents are Lucy and Kenneth Wright of Kailua, Oahu.
