Biography

2009-10 (Senior): Was named academic all-WAC…swam against Loyola Marymount (Jan. 15) and won the 100 backstroke (59.51) and took second in the 200 back (2:09.86)…finished seventh in the 100 back (57.80) at the WAC Championships (Feb. 24-27)…swam against Wisconsin (Jan. 9) and finished fourth in the 400 freestyle (25.08), fifth in the 200 back (2:09.02) and was part of the team that placed third in the 200 medley relay (1:49.71)…earned two personal bests at the Toshiba Classic (Nov. 19-21) in the 200 back (2:07.15) and 100 back (58.40).

2008-09 (Junior): Part of the teams that finished third in the 400 medley relay (3:23.91) and fourth in the 200 medley relay (1:43.90), individually finished 11th in the 200 backstroke (2:05.01), 13th in the 100 back (57.66) and 19th in the 50 freestyle (24.14) at the WAC Championships (Feb. 25-28)...took 11th place in the 100 back (57.39) at the Husky Invitational (Dec. 4-6)...also swam in the Big West Shootout (Nov. 7-8) and finished 6th in both the 100 back (59.36) and 200 back (2:07.69) events.

2007-08 (Sophomore): Finished second in 100m backstroke and third in 200m backstroke event against Arizona State (Sept. 28)...was third in the 200 backstroke (2:07.45) event at the UC Irvine Shootout...placed second in 200m backstroke event against Oregon State (Dec. 19)...was third in the 100 yard back (58.19) against Wisconsin (Jan. 12)...finished in fifth in the 100-yard backstroke final at WAC Championships

2006-2007 (Freshman): Finished sixth at the WAC Championship in the 100 Back (second on team, 58.45)...posted a team high for the 50 Back at the Texas Invitational (second, 27.38)...also posted team highs at the Texas Invitational in 50 Free (seventh, 24.44) and 100 Free (fourth, 53.98)...second on team in the 200 Back with a 2:05.13 vs. UC Santa Barbara.
Prep: A 2006 graduate of Little Flower Academy in Vancouver, B.C., Canada...lettered in swimming, track and cross country...led swim team to the Provincial Championship in 2003 and 2005...team MVP during 2004 season...honored with the Distinction Award for her outstanding academic achievement in history and language.

Personal: Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada...plans to major in biology...has one brother and one sister...parents are Lauren Yee and Jerry Tan of Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
