Biography

2009-10 (Senior): Was named academic all-WAC…won two individual events at the WAC Shootout (Oct. 9-10) in the 500 freestyle (5:04.38) and earned a personal best in the 200 free (1:52.01)…was also part of the team that took the 200 free relay (1:36.45)…earned a personal best in the 500 free (5:00.24) at the Toshiba Classic (Nov. 19-21)…finished second in the 200 free (1:52.77) against Wisconsin…was part of the team that finished third in the 800 free relay (7:29.18) at the WAC Championships (Feb. 24-27).

2008-09 (Junior): Part of a team that won the 800 Meter Freestyle Relay (7:17.76) in the WAC Championship (Feb. 25-28)…placed third in both the 500 Meter Freestyle (4:56.92) and the 200 Meter Freestyle (1:29.83) events also…won the 500 Free swim against Wisconsin (Jan. 14)…took fourth in 200 Free (1:52.97) and 500 Free (5:04.83) swims at the Big West Shootout (Nov. 7-8).

2007-08 (Sophomore): Won the 1000 freestyle event (10:13.17), 500 Free (4:58.82) and 400 IM (4:28.22)against Arizona State (Sept. 28)...posted first-place finishes in the 400m Free (4:32.67) and 800m Free (9:24.92) swims against Arizona State (Sept. 29)...named the Western Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week, for the week of Oct. 1...won 200 free (1:50.78) and 1000 free (10:24.53) at UC Irvine shootout...was third in 500 Yard Freestyle event (4:51.03) at the Husky Invitational...won the 500 free (4:58.98) against Oregon State (Dec. 19)...placed first in 200m Free at Lincoln Shootout (Oct. 29)...won the 200 yard free event (1:51.19) against Wisconsin (Jan. 12)...winner of four events at the WAC Championships...part of the 800-yard freestyle relay winning team...won the 500-yard freestyle (4:54.71), 200 yard freestyle (1:48.08), and the 1,650-yard freestyle (6:59.44).

Prior To UH: Attended Indiana University for one year...a member of the Big Ten Conference Championship team in 2007...a conference qualifier in the 800 Free Relay...placed eighth in the 1650 at the conference championship.

Prep: A 2006 graduate of Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kan...lettered in swimming for coach Kari Schumacher...broke numerous school and pool records...won the 200 and 500 Free at the state championship...posted the state mark in the 500 Free...a member of both the National Honor Society and French Honor Society.

Personal: Born in Loma Linda, Calif...plans to major in kinesiology...has one brother...parents are Lynn and John Berry of Norman, Okla.
