2016 (Senior): Appeared in 30 games with 16 starts—10 games at second base, five games at shortstop and one as the designated player…finished the season with a .136 batting average (6-for-44) with three runs scored, four hit by pitch, and one double, RBI and walk…recorded one multiple hit game—tied her career-high collecting a season-high of two hits against Stanford (Mar. 5)…named a UH Scholar-Athlete with highest honors award (3.51+ cumulative GPA).
2015 (Junior): Appeared in 32 games with 20 starts--18 games at second base and two games at shortstop...finished the season with a .136 batting average overall (6-for-44) with three runs scored a double and two RBI...was 1-for-2 in stolen bases...in conference, hit .171 (6-for-35) with three runs scored...at Cal State Fullerton (Apr. 4), made a diving back-handed catch on a line drive going up the middle from second base to end the game and capture the series 2-1 over the Titans...at Cal Poly (Aprl 17) drove in what proved to be the winning run in the fourth inning on an RBI-single through the leftside of the infield to score Sarah McAndrew from third for the 3-2 win over the Mustangs...named a 2015 UH Scholar-Athlete.
2014 (Sophomore): Appeared in 25 games with one start at second base against Hampton (Feb. 8)…recorded a .333 average for the season (1-for-3)…first collegiate hit and RBI came against Pacific (Mar. 6) off of a double…tied her career-high scoring nine runs on the season…on defense, posted two put-outs and four assists at UC Davis (May 9).
2013 (Freshman): Appeared in 19 games primarily as a pinch runner...scored nine runs on the season...scored first collegiate run in UH's season opener against UAB (Feb. 7)...stayed in the game after pinch-running at Pacific (May 11) and had two assists on defense at second base.
Prep: A 2012 graduate of Moanalua High School in Honolulu, O‘ahu...earned four varsity softball letters and also paddled for three seasons...twice earned conference division second team honors in 2011 and 2012...also wa named Moanalua's Most Inspirational Player for softball in both 2011 and 2012...helped lead the Menehune to a 9-3 record and a berth into the state tournament...as a senior, hit .404 with a .931 fielding average and was 3-for-3 in stolen bases.
Personal: Born in ‘Aiea, O‘ahu...majoring in family resources...parents are Grant and Diane Sugai of ‘Aiea, O‘ahu...father Grant played for the University of Hawai‘i baseball team from 1973-74.
