2013 (Senior):
Started all 58 games at shortstop...became just the second player in UH history to earn all-conference first team honors all four seasons...also is a four-time all-conference scholar-athlete...finished her senior campaign with a .319 batting average, going 53-for-166 at the plate...led the team with 12 multiple-RBI games--including three games in which she drove in three runs (against Western Kentucky (Mar. 3), UC Riverside (Apr. 6), and Long Beach State (Apr. 26)...recorded 11 doubles, eight home runs and 38 runs batted in...scored a season-high three runs against UC Riverside (Apr. 5)...was voted Big West Player of the Week for Apr. 8 and Apr. 22.
2012 (Junior):
Started all 53 games at shortstop…led UH in a plethora of offensive categories, including batting average (.400); slugging percentage (.740); on-base percentage (.503); hits (60); RBI (57); total bases (111)…finished second on the team with 14 home runs, nine doubles and 37 runs scored...also led the ‘Bows with 17 multiple-hit and 18 multiple RBI games…hit a staggering .464 (26-for-56) with runners in scoring position…finished her junior campaign ranked No. 18 in the NCAA DI with 1.08 RBI per game; No. 50 in batting average (.400); No. 49 in home runs per game (0.26); and No. 40 in slugging percentage (.740)…broke the UH career record for RBI when she drove in four runs after going 3-for-4 against BYU in the WAC Tournament (May 11) with a double and a home run and four RBI to bring her total at UH to 159, passing the former record of 156 previously held by Tyleen Tausaga…she is now second on the UH career home run list to teammate Kelly Majam with 47 and ended 2012 ranked No. 4 in UH history with a career .373 batting average and No. 3 in runs scored (145)…was named to the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Preseason Watch List for the second straight season…named WAC Hitter of the week (Mar. 19)…hit a walk-off, two run home run in the bottom of the 10th to knock off No. 1 California (March 15)…voted to the all-WAC first team for the third straight season.…earned second-team Easton All-America honors for the second straight season.
2011 (Sophomore):
Started all 55 games at shortstop while leading the Rainbow Wahine in several offensive categories including: batting average (.355); at-bats (169); hits (60); home runs (15); RBI (44); slugging percentage (.663); and on-base percentage (.447)…also led UH with 13 multiple RBI games and 16 multiple-hit games …ended the season with her second longest career hitting streak of nine games…was voted WAC Player of the Year for the second straight season after leading UH in conference games with a .429 batting average (27-for-63) with five home runs and 22 RBI … selected as the Verizon WAC Hitter of the Week (Feb. 14-20) after hitting for a .526 batting average (10-for-19) in five games, hitting six home runs with a 1.474 slugging percentage, 10 RBI, and 10 hits in UNLV’s Louisville Slugger Desert Classic…hit two home runs while driving in five RBI to help lead UH to a thrilling come-from-behind victory against Utah (Feb. 18) after trailing 6-1 through the first five-and-a-half innings… in a three-game series against San Jose State in early May, Iwata led the Wahine with a .667 average (6-for-9), a 1.667 slugging percentage, and .700 on-base percentage…ranked 45th in the nation in home runs per game (0.27) and 40th with 15 home runs on the season…voted Most Valuable Player of the Pepsi Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament…earned 2011 Easton All-America honors and was selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-West Region second team for the second year in a row.
2010 (Freshman):
Appeared in 64 games with 61 starts at shortstop… had an exceptional freshman season putting up big stats in batting average (.367), runs scored (65), home runs (18), and breaking the single season record for doubles with 21… had a .729 slugging percentage and a .424 on-base percentage… In WAC led the team with a .488 batting average with 39 hits, 12 doubles, 11 home runs, and 32 RBI...was the first Rainbow Wahine to be named NFCA National Player of the week on April 13, she went 12-20 at the plate with nine runs, 17 RBI, two doubles, six home runs, two grand slams, and two walks… went on a 11 game hit streak from March 26 to April 10, during which she hit eight doubles and eight home runs... had two stolen bases… was named to the All-Tournament team for the Pepsi Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament, earned first team All-WAC honors, WAC Player of the Year, WAC All-Tournament team, and second team All-West Region honors… also named to the 2010 USA Softball Women’s Futures National Team.
Prep: A 2009 graduate of Kaua'i High School…earned a total of nine varsity letters in five different sports--four in softball, two in bowling, and one each in basketball, soccer and track...helped lead the Raiders' softball squad to four consecutive league titles as well as the 2009 division II state championship...also won league titles in bowling (2007, '08), soccer (2009) and track (2009)...voted all-league first team all four years in softball while also earning all-league honors in bowling, soccer, and track during her stellar athletic career...in the 2009 softball season, posted a .633 batting average with 23 runs scored, eight home runs and 24 RBI...voted to the 2009 state all-tournament team after hitting .571 with eight RBI...played for the club team, Guava Jam (2007-'09)...was a member of the honor roll as a freshman, sophomore, and junior...participated in the Heath Occupation Service Academy (HOSA) and is an altar server at the Immaculate Conception Church on Kaua'i.
