Biography

2015 (Senior): Started all 54 games--47 at catcher, four in leftfield and three in rightfield...overall hit .306 (45-for-147)...led UH with 32 walks...finished second on the team with 37 runs scored, 10 doubles, and 10 home runs....recorded nine multiple-hit games and eight multiple-RBI games...finished the season reaching base safely in the last 12 straight games...as the catcher threw out eight runners trying to steal...twice launched two home runs in a game against Utah State (Feb. 13) and No. 18 California (Feb. 26)...in UH's game against Utah State (in Las Vegas), she came through in the clutch, helping UH overcome an early seven run deficit hitting a two-run, opposite-field, walk-off home run to down the Aggies, 11-10...in Big West games, hit .271 (16-for-59) with two doubles, two home runs and six RBI...finished the conference season tied for second with Rachel Lack scoring 10 runs...led the 'Bows with 12 walks...finished her four-year career ranked tied at No. 7 in career home runs with 34 and No. 2 with 119 walks...named the Big West Field Player of the Week (Feb. 16) after lighting things up at UNLV's Wilson/DeMarini Desert Classic when she led UH with a .550 batting average (11-for-20) with eight extra-base hits--including a team-high four home runs and four doubles...voted to the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic, the Pepsi Malihini Kipa Aloha, and the Outrigger Resorts Spring Fling all-tournament teams...named a 2015 UH Scholar-Athlete...earned all-Big West second team honors--her second all-Big West award after earning first team honors as a sophomore.

2014 (Junior): Appeared in 50 games with 49 starts—19 at catcher and 30 as the designated player…hit .258 overall (34-for-132) with a .462 slugging percentage …scored 23 runs, hit two doubles, two triples, and seven home runs…drove in 17 RBI overall…recorded 10 multiple-hit and four multiple-RBI games…had a season-high seven game hitting streak from Apr. 19-May 3 during the conference season…in Big West action, raised her batting average to .274 and finished fourth on the team…drew a career-high three walks at Long Beach State (Apr. 12)…recorded a season-high three hits vs. Utah (Feb. 16)…drove in a season-high four runs against Cal Poly (Apr. 19) with an RBI double and a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 7-7…capped a six-run top of the seventh inning against Utah en route to an 11-7 win in Las Vegas, NV…drove in what proved to be the winning run in a 4-3 victory at Loyola Marymount (Mar. 26) with a sacrifice fly that scored Keiki Carlos…earned Big West All-Academic honors.

2013 (Sophomore): Started all 58 games--52 at catcher and six as the designated player...hit .314 (55-for-175) overall...tied for team lead with four triples with Keiki Carlos...tied for second on the team with 55 hits and also tied for third on the team with 37 RBI...recorded career-highs with four runs scored, four hits and five RBI against San Jose State (Feb. 15) at UNLV tournament in Las Vegas, Nev....in that game against SJSU, drilled a pair of home runs for the second time in her career...tallied 13 multiple hit-games and nine multiple-RBI games...reached base safely in 13 straight games...voted to the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic All-Tournament team...was second on the team in conference games with a .373 batting average (28-for-75) with 19 runs scored, five doubles, five home runs and 18 RBI. Overall, Wartner posted career-highs with a .327 average, 38 runs scored, with seven doubles, three triples, 11 home runs, and 35 RBI...earned first team all-Big West honors.

2012 (Freshman): Started all 53 games as a catcher for UH…had eight multiple-hit games as well as eight multiple RBI games…finished the season reaching base safely in 14 consecutive games…led the squad with 10 doubles…second on the team with 34 walks and No. 3 with an on-base percentage of .431…hit a walk-off home run in a 1-0 win over UMKC (Missouri-Kansas City) on Feb. 13...hit another clutch walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to defeat conference rival Fresno State, 1-0...in the final game of UH’s 2012 season, Wartner hit a career-high two home runs, going 2-for-5 tying her career highs with four RBI and two runs scored against North Dakota State (May 10) at the NCAA Tucson Regionals. 

Prep: A 2011 graduate of Escondido High School in Escondido, Calif….earned three varsity letters in softball…named league Player of the Year in 2011 and was twice selected as a first-team all-league player as a junior and a senior and a second-team all-county as a junior…played four years for the club team, the San Diego Legacy… hit .486 this past club season with the San Diego Legacy which finished fifth in regionals.
 
Personal: Born in San Jose, Calif….nickname is “Boo”…majoring in sociology... has one older brother…daughter of Scott and Shana Wartner of Escondido, Calif.
