HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i baseball team finishes the regular season this week hosting a three-game set against Nevada. The Rainbows and Wolf Pack will play Thursday, May 17 (6:35 p.m.), Friday, May 18 (6:35 p.m.), and Saturday, May 19 (6:35 p.m.).
Hawai'i and Nevada both enter the series with title hopes on the line. The Wolf Pack leads the Western Athletic Conference standings at 10-5 and the Rainbows, who sit at 8-7, can clinch a share of the conference title with three wins over Nevada.
The 'Bows are coming off a difficult three-game sweep at the hands of Sacramento State, falling out of the top spot in the WAC in the process. Amidst the struggles, third baseman
Collin Bennett continued his stellar play over the weekend which included a game against UC Davis. He batted .400 (6-15) with four runs and six RBI, and belted two homeruns in the series opener.
Despite the losses, Hawai'i continues to have one of the top pitching staffs in the conference. UH boasts a WAC-low 3.17 ERA and ranks seventh in the nation with a stingy 2.27 walks allowed per nine innings.
Jarrett Arakawa ranks fifth in the WAC with a 2.89 ERA and fourth in innings pitched (84.0).
The series also marks the final home games for eight UH seniors.

Fans can register at the sports marketing table located inside the main entrance for a chance to win. The University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union will distribute 1,500 team photos at Saturday's Senior Night game. The team will be available for photos and autographs after Friday's game, as they will for all Friday home games. Fans can proceed to the field via the stairs located at the lower level of Section JJ on the first-base side of the field. The players will be available on the field for 30 minutes for “Autograph Friday”. Fans are encouraged to bring items for the players to sign. Fans attending the opening game of the UH baseball team's series against Nevada on Thursday, May 17, will receive special savings on merchandise and food.
