2012 (Senior): Saw action in six games out of the bullpen...finished season with a 2.08 ERA in 8.2 innings pitched and six strikeouts...recorded his lone save on senior night against Nevada (May 19), working 2.0 innings allowing no runs while striking out three hitters...pitched scoreless ball in all but one of his outings...had two strikeouts in one inning of work against Wagner College (Feb. 23)

2011 (Junior): Saw action on the mound in four games this season...pitched a total of seven innings allowing two earned runs with four strikeouts...finished season with a 2.57 earned run average...tossed four innings in the WAC championship game vs. Fresno State, allowing no earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts.

Prior to UH: Played two seasons at Yavapai College in Arizona...saw action in 16 games...went 2-2 on the season with two saves...recorded 35 strikeouts in just 34.1 innings pitched...allowed 21 earned runs for a 5.50 ERA.

Prep: Drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 34th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft...lettered at Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Ariz. under coaches Brian Rice and Terry Kellen.

Personal: Born in Scottsdale, Ariz....came to UH because of the excellent eduation and opportunity to help continue the winning tradition of UH baseball...father is former Cy Young award winner Bob Welch.
