2017 (Redshirt Sophomore):
Played in four games at catcher and as a pinch hitter, all off the bench…drove in a run with an eighth inning RBI single in a win over San Jose State on March 26…appeared as a defensive replacement late in a win over Nevada on March 30.
2016 (Redshirt Freshman): Appeared in 10 games, making one start at catcher…hit .250 with one RBI and one double…went 1-for-3 in first career start versus Michigan (March 12)…picked up first career RBI versus Chicago State (March 20) on a bases loaded walk and later came around to score first career run…first career extra-base hit came at Loyola Marymount (April 25) on a double to right field.
2015: Did not appear in any contests during his first season at Hawai’i.
Prep: Played three years of baseball at Holy Cross Academy in Delran, New Jersey as a catcher under Coach Steve Paolini…also played three seasons of basketball at HCA under Coach Barry Harper with three Burlington County Scholastic League (BCSL) titles and a 9.0 PPG average as a senior…on the diamond, Noworyta also aided the Lancers to a BCSL Baseball Championship in his senior year, finishing with an 18-9 record…in his final season, he batted .320 with 13 RBI and 13 runs, registering a .405 on-base percentage…earned All-Burlington County first team honors…Noworyta was selected in the 37th round of the 2014 MLB First Year Player Draft by the Kansas City Royals.
Personal: Born in Chicago, Illinois…majoring in Communications…parents are Steve and Karen Noworyta of Hainesport, New Jersey…has one older sibling, Steve, Jr...his father is the Philadelphia Phillies Assistant Director for Player Development, previously serving as Director for Minor League Operations—he also held similar roles with the Chicago White Sox, following a successful playing career at Saint Xavier (Ill.) and a playing stint in the White Sox organization...brother was on the basketball team at Oklahoma…was President of Catholic Athletes for Christ in high school and was also an Honor Roll student…played five years of summer ball with the South Jersey Elite and was team captain.
