Biography

2017 (Junior): Saw action in five games, making one start in left field…made first career start against San Francisco on February 25, scoring a run in a 3-2 win…drew a pinch-hit walk and scored a run in a win over San Jose State (March 26).

Prior To UH: Played two seasons at Fort Scott Community College in Kansas…received first-team all-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Eastern and second-team all-NJCAA Region VI honors as a sophomore…led the team and ranked 12th in the conference with a .411 average as a sophomore…across 53 games in 2016, recorded 38 RBI and 58 runs, ranking 14th nationally with 19 doubles and 12th with 42 walks, as well as six home runs…ranked fifth nationally with a .544 on-base percentage…during his freshman season, hit .386 with a .475 on-base percentage through 48 games, registering 38 RBI and 45 runs, nine doubles, four home runs and 24 walks…received Academic All-KJCCC honors during his sophomore year.
 
Prep: Played four years of baseball at the Maryknoll School on O‘ahu, graduating in 2014…aided the Spartans to consecutive Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) and HHSAA Division II State titles from 2013-14…playing center field in the 2014 state championships, he hit 5-for-12 and was named to the HHSAA Division II All-Tournament Team…a two-time all-ILH first-teamer, he received first-team all-state honors as a junior and honorable mention as a senior…batted .345 as a senior, with four doubles, 14 RBI and nine runs, reaching base on balls 10 times…hit .365 as a junior, notching 23 runs and 17 RBI, walking 16 times with 23 hits…also pitched 7.0 innings as a junior, earning one win and one save while striking out five with a 0.00 ERA.
 
Personal: Born in Honolulu, O‘ahu…majoring in Sociology…has one older brother…his uncle, Myles Yamamoto, played baseball at UH from 1972-74…was an outfielder on the 2008 Waipi‘o Little League squad which won the Little League World Series…he scored three runs in the LLWS tournament… parents are Kenneth and Janet Andrade of Waipahu, O‘ahu.
