2017 (Junior): Appeared in 15 games, starting 13…finished with a record of 6-4 and a 3.59 ERA…second on the team in innings pitched with 82.2 and strikeouts with 44, while walking only 16…ranked 66th in the NCAA and sixth in Big West in walks per game (1.74)…earned first career win against San Francisco (February 25), allowing two runs on six hits with two strikeouts in seven innings…tossed a complete game shutout at Minnesota (March 4) in the Dairy Queen Classic, giving up five hits while striking out two and walking one…won his third consecutive start, striking out six with only one walk in six innings of two-run ball vs. Sacred Heart (March 11)…fanned a career-high seven batters without any walks in seven innings for the win against Nevada April 2)…delivered a gem in a win over UC Davis on April 23, throwing 8.1 innings with six strikeouts and no walks, giving up just one run on five hits…took the no-decision in his final start of the season against UC Santa Barbara (May 26), going seven innings without allowing an earned run while striking out three in the eventual UH win.
Prior To UH: Played two seasons at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, California, aiding the squad to the 2016 Western State Conference (WSC) North Championship…received first-team all-WSC honors after tallying a 7-3 record and 2.63 ERA in 12 appearances (10 starts) during his sophomore season…registered a team second-most 82 strikeouts and only seven walks through 75.3 innings, averaging 9.8 strikeouts per nine frames…threw three complete games and two shutouts…was named the Cuesta College athlete of the month in April 2016 after registering a 4-0 mark on the month, logging double-digit strikeouts in each start, and a 1.04 ERA in 33 innings…during his freshman season, only saw three innings of action…played summer collegiate ball for the San Luis Obispo Blues in 2014 and the Valley Bears in 2015.
Prep: A 2013 graduate of Westlake High School in Westlake Village, Calif., where he played only one year of baseball and four years of football…during his senior year and first baseball season, pitched in seven games with a 5.53 ERA and one save…helped WHS football squad to the 2011 CIF Southern Section Championship and state Open Division Runner-up finish…for his efforts at quarterback, received second-team all-Marmonte League honors and was received his team’s Co-Offensive Player Award in 2012…that season, he passed for a program second-most 392 yards on 32 passes vs. Del Oro…played summer ball with the Connie Mack Cardinals following his senior year.
