Biography

2017 (Junior): Played in 34 games, starting 31 at first base…tied for the team lead with five home runs while driving in 17 runs, scoring nine of his own, and hitting .221…hit three doubles while walking a team second-most 25 times and posting an on-base percentage of .369…had a productive series at CSUN (April 28-30), going 5-for-14 (.357) with two home runs and three RBI…drew a career-high three walks vs. NC State on February 18…hit a two-run home run against Indiana (March 17), finishing the game 1-for-2 with two walks...tied a career-high two doubles vs. Nevada (April 1), going 2-for-4 with an RBI…homered in back-to-back games on April 15 at UC Riverside and April 22 vs. UC Davis…went deep in consecutive games for the second time in the season, hitting solo home runs at CSUN on April 28-29…named to Big West All-Academic Team.

2016 (Sophomore): Started all 53 games at first base…hit .261 and led the team in RBI with 29 and doubles with 12…also led the team in walks (39) and was tied for second in on-base-percentage (.392)…picked up 49 hits which was good for fourth best on the team…went on two eight game hitting streaks from Feb. 24-28 and April 1-16…went 6-for-11 with three RBI in a series at UC Davis (April 8-10)… best offensive performance of the season came versus Santa Clara (3/25), going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and two runs scored…doubled two times in a game twice, versus Santa Clara (3/25) and at UC Santa Barbara (April 30)…drove in three runs in a game three times, at UH-Hilo (Feb. 14), versus Santa Clara (March 25), and at UC Davis (April 10)…hit first career home run versus West Virginia (March 5)...named to Big West All-Academic Team.

2015 (Freshman): Started 52 games on the year, only missing one start in his first season at Hawai’i…Ranked second on the team with a .270 average, tying for the team lead of 50 hits, including four doubles and one triple…Was second on the team with 29 RBI and fourth on the team with 23 runs scored…Paced the ‘Bows with a .371 on-base percentage, aided by a team-best 29 walks (third in Big West) and three bases as a hit batter...Topped the Big West with 489 putouts, adding in 40 assists on a .989 fielding percentage, with a hand in 44 double plays (second in Big West)…Collected his first collegiate start and hit in the series opener with No. 15 Oregon (Feb. 13), hitting 1-for-2 with a walk…He hit .385 overall against the Ducks, going 2-for-4 in each of the final two games, adding two RBI and two runs in the third series game…Tied for the team lead with 15 multi-hit games, including three games with three hits, highlighted by a 3-for-4 performance versus Hofstra (2/19) with a double, two RBI and two runs, followed by another 3-for-4 date against UC Davis (April 4), chipping in a double, two RBI and a run…Had a team-best eight multi-RBI contests, topped by a 2-for-5 night at Pepperdine (Feb. 26), racking up four  RBI and a run…Extended a hitting streak to eight games in April, and led the ‘Bows with a 22-game reached base streak.
 
Prep: A 2014 graduate of Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard, California, he was a four-year letterman in baseball under Coach David Soliz…Batted .314 in his senior season, driving in 11 runs and scoring 16 of his own, logging six doubles and two triples…In his junior season, Ramirez batted .359 through 23 games, with 14 RBI and 12 runs scored, tallying nine doubles on the year…Appeared in the Area Code Games, earning First Team All-Area Code and receiving California All-Region Second Team honors from Perfect Game…The Milwaukee Brewers selected the first baseman in the 37th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.
