2016 (Senior): Appeared in 25 games, making 16 starts at designated hitter…finished the season with three doubles, six RBI, and a batting average of .167…best game of the year came at UH-Hilo (2/14), going 2-for-5 with two RBI, two runs scored, and a double…came through with a pinch-hit, walk-off single in the 11th inning of a 4-3 victory over New Mexico (2/20)…had a hit in all three appearances in a series versus West Virginia (3/3-3/6), including two doubles.

2015 (Junior): Played and started in 49 games during his first season with Hawai’i, with 32 as the designated hitter…Ranked third on the team with a .262 average, but tied for the team hits lead with 50, including eight (8) doubles and one (1) triple on the year…Also tied for third on the team with 20 RBI and scored 15 runs…As a defender, he logged a .925 fielding percentage with 28 assists and 21 putouts…Had one of his best outings against No. 15 Oregon (2/15), hitting 3-for-4 with a season-high three (4) RBI and two (2) runs…Registered three (3) hits in five games and tallied multiple hits in 15 games…Scored two (2) runs in three games, the last time at UC Riverside (5/9)...Put together a 10-game hitting streak that stretched from late March to mid-April…Earned All-Big West honorable mention recognition.

Prior To UH:  Played two seasons in junior college, both at Pierce College…During his sophomore season, Sawelson aided the Brahmas to the first playoff appearance since 2010, starting all but one game for PC, ranking second on the team with 33 RBI, while leading the team with 12 doubles on .252 hitting…As a freshman, Sawelson ranked second at the plate, hitting .333 with a team-high 23 RBI and 31 runs, adding seven (7) doubles…Named all-Western State Conference honorable mention in his second season...played alongside 2016 UH teammate Casey Ryan during his sophomore season.

Prep: A 2011 graduate of William Howard Taft High School in Woodland Hills, California, where he was a four-year letterman and starter in baseball…Playing under Coach Scott Osder, he led the West Valley League and the Los Angeles City Section with eight (8) home runs, batting .410 with 30 RBI…Sawelson earned first team All-West Valley League Honors twice and first team CIF Los Angeles Section All-City as a senior…He was twice named Offensive Player of the Year and Team MVP as a senior at WHTHS, earning the opportunity to play on the CIF City Section All-Star Team and appearing in the home run derby.
