Biography

2007-08 (Junior): Finished second in 100 fly event (1:05.85) against Arizona State (Sept. 29)...placed fourth in the 200 free at UC Irvine Shootout...was third in the 100 Yard fly event (55.53) and fifth in 200 yard fly event (2:02.06) at the Husky Invitational...finished second in 100 yard fly event (57.80) against Wisconsin (Jan. 12)...won the gold in the 800-yard freestyle team relay during the 2008 WAC Championships, finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly. 

2006-2007 (Sophomore): Placed third in the WAC Championship (Feb. 14) in the 100 Fly (55.85), finish good for second on team...posted a 24.05 in the 50 free, 11th in the WAC Championship, fourth on team...at the Texas Invitational posted a 52.24 for the 100 Free, fourth on team...placed in the finals at the Texas Invitational in the 200 Fly (2:02.06), third best on team...recorded  1:51.50 vs. UC Santa Barbara in the 200 Free, good for second on team.

2005-06 (Freshman): Won gold at the WAC Championship as a part of the 200 and 400 Medley relays along with the 400 Free Relay... placed third at the WAC in the 200 Fly (2:02.72), fourth in 100 Fly (55.87), and 11th in 50 Free (24.24)...UH Top 10 performances in the 100 Fly (7th), 200 Fly (6th), and 200 Free (10th)...earned first letter.

Prep: A 2005 graduate of Yokota High in Tokyo, Japan...she attended Irvine High (Calif.) prior to Yokota...earned four letters in swimming...a four-time high school All-American...participated in the Japan Olympic Trials in 2000 and 2004...Japan National Age Group Champion...led Irvine squad to the 2003 CIF championship...on the 400 Free Relay and 200 Medley Relay national champions in 2003...her 400 Free Relay team set a high school national record...high school coach was Scott Hinman, while Dave Salo was her club coach...received the President's Award for academic excellence.

Personal: Born Jan. 20, 1987, in Tokyo, Japan...plans to major in hotel management with a minor in Japanese...favorites are science and athlete Jason Lezak...has one younger sister, Mariko...parents are Naomi and Rick Heimbach of Tokyo, Japan.
