SPOKANE, Wash. – The Hawai'i track and field team kicked off its final regular season meet of the indoor season with a number of strong performances on day one of the Riverfront Invitational Friday at The Podium.
 
UH posted several PRs and a pair of program top 10 marks on the opening day of competition at the same site the MPSF Championships will be held at the end of the month.
 
Kristin Cook led the way for the Rainbow Wahine sprinters, clocking the fourth-best indoor 200m dash time in program history. The junior crossed the line in 24.94 to move up two spots on the program's top 10 list and win her heat.
 
The Rainbow Wahine closed out the day's action by posting the No. 8 time in school history in the distance medley relay. Gemma Warman, Deiona Carter, Lucy Becker and Lucy Milliner combined to run a 12:06.95 to finish the meet eighth in the DMR.
 
Lucy Milliner continued her stellar freshman season with another strong showing in the 800m. Milliner, who already holds the second-fastest time in UH history indoors at that distance, finished third in the meet with a time of 2:10.20.
 
Other highlights from day one in Spokane included a pair of personal bests in the weight throw. Valo Sopoaga set her PR with a mark of 15.22m (49-11.25) to finish 11th while freshman Elise Drake turned in the best performance of her young career with a toss of 15.14m (49-8.25). Back on the track, Ruby Brook clocked the fastest 800m time of her collegiate career with a 2:18.00.
