HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team saw six of its student-athletes recognized for their combined brilliance in competition and in the classroom, earning spots on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Rose Forshaw,
Isabella Kneeshaw,
Catherine Touchette,
Lilian Turban,
Samaria Vital, and
Tara Wyllie each earned the award that honors student-athletes for their outstanding athletic and academic achievements.
Several of the Rainbow Wahine honored have claimed the recognition multiple times in their careers. Leading the way is Turban, who earned the nod for the fourth time in her illustrious career. Wyllie was recognized for the third time, while Forshaw and Touchette each claimed the honor for the second time.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Hawai'i had the maximum number of student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors. Five Rainbow Wahine have garnered the recognition each of the last three years before the limit increased to six for the 2026 season.
Rose Forshaw
- Earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the second time in her career.
- Placed sixth overall in the discus at the 2026 Big West Championships with a throw of 48.51m (159-2).
- Captured an event win in the shot put at the 2026 Bryan Clay Invitational with a mark of 13.96m (45-9.75).
Isabella Kneeshaw
- Earned her first career CSC Academic All-District selection.
- Scored points for Hawai'i at both the Big West Outdoor Championships and MPSF Indoor Championships by finishing fifth in the 400m dash at both meets.
- Broke her own program record in the indoor 400m with a time of 54.48 at the Battle Born Invitational in February.
Catherine Touchette
- Secured CSC Academic All-District recognition for the second time in her collegiate career.
- Finished sixth in the heptathlon at the 2026 Big West Championships, compiling a score of 5,362 points.
- Placed first in the 800m portion of the heptathlon at the Big West Championships with a personal-best time of 2:08.23.
Lilian Turban
- Garnered CSC Academic All-District honors for the fourth time, adding to a historic resume that includes being just the second Academic All-American in program history.
- Won both the conference title in both the high jump and shot put at the MPSF Indoor Championships, finishing her career with eight individual conference crowns (5 MPSF, 3 Big West).
- Recently received the 2026 Jack Bonham Award, the highest honor given to a Hawai'i student-athlete, and was named a recipient of the Big West Service and Leadership Award.
Samaria Vital
- Earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time in her career.
- Qualified for the 2026 NCAA First Round in the discus, where she competed with a top mark of 50.74m (166-6).
- Claimed fourth place in the discus at the 2026 Big West Championships, recording a personal-best toss of 51.95m (170-5) to vault up the regional rankings and secure her postseason bid.
Tara Wyllie
- Named to the CSC Academic All-District team for the third time in her career.
- Qualified for the NCAA First Round in the triple jump for the third time in her career, taking a top mark of 12.93m into the postseason.
- Broke the program indoor triple jump record to win the MPSF title with a mark of 13.08m (42-11).
