Box Score (html)HONOLULU –
Tyler Brashears went seven complete innings to earn his first win in a UH uniform and the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior baseball team beat Hofstra 7-4 on Thursday night at Les Murakami Stadium.
Â
Brashears (1-1) tossed just one pitch shy of 100 for the night, giving up two runs on six hits with five strikeouts. Brian MacDonald (0-1) was the pitcher of record for Hoftstra (1-4), giving up four runs in five innings of work.

Â
The 'Bows plated four runs in the first inning in what looked to be a cake walk for Hawai'i.
Eric Ramirez's two-run double got the 'Bows on the board early, then infield hits by
Jordan Richartz (1 H, 1 R, 1 RBI) and
Alan Baldwin drove in another pair of runs. Ramirez had a monster game, batting 3-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Â
Four scoreless innings later and the Pride finally got on the board. Brad Witkowski's run-scoring double helped Hofstra put two runs on the board and slice the lead in half.
Â
The 'Bows would add a run in the bottom of the sixth and two more in the seventh, the last off a
Chayce Ka'aua RBI double, to give them more than enough insurance.
Â
Ryan Donovan and David Leiderman both had a pair of hits for Hofstra with Leiderman adding a run.
Â
UH and Hofstra return to the field on Friday for game three of the series. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
