Correa Returns to Hawai‘i Baseball Program as Associate Head Coach

HONOLULU – The Hawai'i baseball program and head coach Rich Hill announced the hiring of Dallas Correa as associate head coach/pitching coordinator Wednesday. A native of Hanapape, Kauai, Correa returns to the Rainbow Warriors following a successful stint in professional baseball, bringing a wealth of coaching experience and deep local ties back to Mānoa.

Correa re-joins the Hawai'i coaching staff after serving as the minor league catching coordinator for the Milwaukee Brewers from 2024 to 2026. During his time with the Brewers organization, he was in charge of overseeing and directing the development of all catchers throughout the franchise's farm system.

"We couldn't be more excited to welcome back Dallas Correa to the 'Bows family," said Hill. "Dallas has been instrumental in the Milwaukee Brewers player development program rising to the top. From the big league dugout to the backfields of spring training, Dallas brings a wealth of knowledge that will elevate our program to new heights. Let's go 'Bows!"

Prior to his time in the major league ranks, Correa spent two highly successful seasons on the Hawai'i coaching staff. He initially joined the Rainbow Warriors as the director of player development for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. During this span, he helped guide the 'Bows to back-to-back winning seasons in Big West play—the first two such seasons for the program since joining the conference in 2013.

"I am incredibly honored and excited to return home and join the Hawaiʻi baseball program as associate head coach," said Correa. "I am deeply grateful to Coach Rich Hill for this opportunity and to the Milwaukee Brewers organization for the people, experiences, and relationships that have shaped me as both a leader and a person."

"Returning home is a blessing for my family and I, and there is no greater privilege than representing the University of Hawaiʻi and the state that raised me. I look forward to helping build a program that develops outstanding young men, competes for championships, and represents Hawaiʻi with pride."

In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations for the program during his first stint at UH, Correa also worked with the program's catchers. Following the 2023 campaign, he was elevated to assistant coach during the fall before accepting the role with the Brewers.

Before his initial arrival at UH, Correa spent three seasons as the head coach at Hawai'i Pacific University from 2019 to 2021, having previously worked as a volunteer and assistant coach for the Sharks starting in 2016. During his tenure at HPU, his team turned the most double plays per game in the PacWest Conference (0.73) and ranked second in the league in stolen bases per game (1.58) in 2021. He also had the privilege of coaching three HPU players who moved on to professional baseball: Rico Garcia, Brandon Bonilla, and Matthew Gunter.

A 2011 graduate of Saint Louis School in Honolulu, Correa played collegiately as a catcher at the University of the Pacific from 2012 to 2015. His deep-rooted connections to the local baseball community are highlighted by his time at HPU, where he orchestrated the Sharks Baseball Corporate sponsorship program and First Pitch Dinner, raising over $100,000 in his first two years at the helm.
