Campbell's Brittany Arnn (1-1) took the loss, throwing 4.1 innings giving up five runs on four hits with three walks and three strike outs. Julia Cllicutt threw the final 1.2 innings, giving up three runs on three hits with a walk and three strike outs.

Campbell got on the scoreboard first, posting one run on an RBI double by Stephanie Jones that drove in Ericka Nesbitt from second to take an early 1-0 lead.

The Fighting Camels doubled their lead to 2-0 when Nesbitt struck again, scoring off an error in right that allowed her to come around to score from second after reaching on a double to start the inning herself.

Hawai'i tied the game at 2-2 in the third inning with one swing of the bat by Jessica Iwata. With two outs, Carlos ripped a double down the leftfield line into the corner. Iwata followed with her first home run of the season that sailed over the leftfield fence. It was her 48th of her career.

Campbell came right back in the top of the fourth to re-take the lead at 3-2 with a solo home run by Courtney Klingler to left. The Camels added another run in the fifth when Nesbitt scored her third run of the game off of another error to give them a 4-2 lead.

The Rainbow Wahine then responded to leapfrog the Camels with four runs in the fifth. Kayla Wartner led off with a walk and moved to second on a wild pitch and to third on a passed ball. After a fly out to center, Iwata hit a pop up to third that was mishandled for an error. The result was Iwata hustled into second and Wartner had to hold at third. Leisha Li`ili`i then came through with an opposite-field shot that bounced off the top of the left-centerfield fence for a double. Two batters later, Zamora came through with the go-ahead runs on a two-run home run to leftfield. It was her third homer of the season and her career.

Hawai'i two more insurance runs in the sixth on RBI doubles by Kelly Majam and Carlos.

Campbell added one last run in the seventh when Nesbitt—who went 4-for-4 with four runs scored—scored her fourth run of the game on a double by Jones to end the game with a score of 8-5.
