FULLERTON, Calif.—University of Hawai'i senior second baseman
Carys Murakami was the lone Rainbow Wahine to earn a spot on the 2026 Big West Championship's All-Tournament Team which was announced on Saturday.
Murakami led Hawai'i by hitting .500 (5-for-10) across UH's three championship games. She recorded at least one hit in all three contests—including two doubles—while scoring two runs and driving in two runs
In UH's first game vs. UC Santa Barbara, Murakami led the game off with a double and went 2-for-3 at the plate. She played a part in both of the 'Bows' runs—scoring one and driving in the second run in the 2-0 win over the Gauchos. Against Cal State Fullerton, She went 2-for-3 with an RBI. In Hawai'i's elimination game vs. UC Santa Barbara, Murakamoi ripped a double and scored a run.
Murakami was one of just four Rainbow Wahine to start all 50 games this season, making 27 starts at second base and 23 at third base. For the majority of the season, she served as one of the team's top table setters, scoring a team-high 34 runs. She finished the season hitting .297 (44-for-148) while successfully executing six sacrifice bunts and stealing six bases.
