Biography

2011 (Senior): Named second-team all-MPSF…started in all 28 matches and 102 sets...averaged 3.54 kills, 1.36 digs, and 0.57 blocks per set…hit a career-best .332 on the year, including .350 in MPSF play…finished fifth all-time in school history with 1,428 career kills…also ranked second all-time in kill attempts (3,313) and 10th in service aces (85)…hit for double-figure kills in 22 of 28 matches, including season-high 20 kills against Stanford (Jan. 23) and Cal State Northridge (April 2)…led the team with 29 service aces with three each against UC Irvine (Feb. 21) and Pacific (March 12)…had 20 kills, with only one error, in 27 attempts for a career-high .704 hitting against CSUN (April 2)…season-high nine digs against UC San Diego (Jan. 28) and Pacific (March 11)…hit .400 or better eight times…hit .609 with 14 kills and no errors in 23 attempts at UCLA (Feb. 17)…had 19 kills and season-high five blocks in five-set victory over No. 1 USC (April 8).

2010 (Junior): Named second-team AVCA All-America…also selected to all-MPSF third team…started all 29 matches at outside hitter…became the 12th player in UH history to record 1,000 career kills…averaged a career-best 4.32 kills per set, second-best on the team and eighth in the MPSF, while hitting .310…also averaged 1.67 digs and 0.64 blocks per set and had 32 service aces…posted 25 double figure kill matches and eight 20-kill matches, including a season-high 28 against Long Beach State (March 20) in which he hit .542 with two errors in 48 attempts…had three double-doubles…notched 25 kills and hit .413 against UCLA (Feb. 5)…matched career-high of 13 digs at Cal State Northridge (March 5)…hit .652 with 17 kills in 23 attempts against Ohio State (Jan. 7)…two-time MPSF co-Player of the Week following his performance during the Outrigger Hotels Invitational in which he was named Most Outstanding Player and wins over BYU and Cal State Northridge.

2009 (Sophomore): Competed in 71 sets and started 18 of 26 matches...led the team in kills (300)…averaged 4.23 kills per set, which was seventh best in the MPSF and ranked 13th nationally…recorded 229 of his 300 kills in conference matches…also averaged 1.38 digs and 0.76 blocks per set…hit for a .239 percentage…posted double-digit kills in 15 of 26 matches and set a career-high 30 kills against UC Santa Barbara (Mar. 5)…best defensive performance came against Cal State Northridge (Jan. 30) when he had eight blocks and seven digs…tallied 29 kills and career-high 13 digs while hitting .390 in a five-set upset over USC (Apr. 18)…had 17 kills in three-set victories over Ohio State (Jan. 8) and UC Santa Barbara (Mar. 6).

2008 (Freshman): Played in 84 games and 24 matches...led the team in kills with 300 for a 3.57 kill average...hit .225 on 778 swings...recorded double digit kills 18 times...he was second on the team in points per game (4.12) and kills per game...ranked third on the squad in service aces with 17...tallied a career-high 29 kills on 44 percent hitting against Brigham Young (Apr. 3)...topped the 20-kill mark against UC Santa Barbara (26) and UC San Diego (24)...career-high 12 digs at UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 2)...career-best seven blocks against Brigham Young (Apr. 3).
2007: Redshirted.

Prep: A 2006 graduate of Tallwood High School in Virginia...lettered four years in volleyball and two in basketball...garnered MVP of the district, region and state...team won the district title from 2002-05...team took the region crown in 2004-05 and state title in 2004 under head coach Angela Hubner...played on the basketball team that won the district and regional championship in 2006.

Personal: Born in Virginia Beach, Va...plans to major in English...has one older brother, James, and one older sister, Adrienne...parents are James and Caretha Walker of Virginia Beach, Va.
