Biography

2013 (Senior): Lone senior on the squad served as the team’s primary libero…appeared in all 28 matches and 115 sets…averaged 1.27 digs per set…posted five double-digit dig matches, including two during the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Invitational, that earned him all-tournament honors – 15 vs. Penn State (Jan. 11) and 12 vs. UCLA (Jan. 12)…tallied a then-career-best 11 digs in his first career start against BYU (Jan. 5)…also recorded double-digit dig totals with 11 at Long Beach State (Jan. 18) and Stanford (Feb. 1)…named to MPSF all-academic team.
 
2012 (Junior): Appeared in one match against Grand Canyon (Jan. 27)…did not record any statistics.

2011 (Sophomore): Appeared in 13 matches and 27 sets…used primarily as a serving and defensive specialist…tallied eight digs and one assist…had two digs against UC Irvine (Feb. 22) and BYU (March 25).

2010 (Freshman): Did not appear in any matches.

2009: Redshirted.

Prep: A 2008 graduate of Mililani High School on O’ahu…earned four letters in volleyball…was a first-team all-star selection and received honorable all-state mention for three consecutive years…also lettered three years in soccer…team placed third in the state championships in 2006 and ’08.

Personal: Born in Honolulu, O‘ahu...plans to major in kinesiology and leisure sciences… has one sister, Lauren…parents are Michael and Sharon Cheape of Mililani, O‘ahu.
