2017 (Senior): Selected by the Houston Astros with the 16th pick in the 26th round (781st overall) of the 2017 MLB Draft…named second team All-Big West…started 50 games at third base…registered six triples to lead the team with the highest UH three-bagger count since 1997 – finishing second in the conference and 16th in the NCAA…finished second on the team in batting average, hitting .294, and doubles with 15 (tied for fifth in BWC)…tied for the team lead in home runs with five, while driving in 25 runs…recorded a team-leading 28 walks, ranking ninth in the conference…paced the Rainbow Warriors and ranked sixth in the Big West with a .541 slugging percentage…led the team with 36 runs scored and a .404 on-base percentage (eighth in BWC)…hit safely in the final 10 games of the season going 14-for-34 (.412) with two home runs, four doubles and seven runs scored in that stretch…hit first career home run against Indiana (March 15), blasting a fourth-inning shot versus the Hoosiers…led the way offensively in a 3-2 win over Nevada (April 2), going 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored…turned in the team’s only multi-home run game of the year, hitting two at CSUN (April 28)…tied a career high with three hits against Cal State Fullerton (May 7), finishing 3-for-4 with a home run…drove in the eventual winning run versus UC Santa Barbara on May 26, knocking a run-scoring single in the eighth frame…finished tied for second on the team with six multiple-RBI games, while recording 12 multi-hit games…defensively, finished the year with a .946 fielding percentage, pacing the team with 134 assists, aiding on five double plays.
2016 (Junior): Appeared in 48 games, making 47 starts, all at second base…hit .239 on the season with 16 RBI and five doubles...tied for the fourth most walks on the team with 20…finished with a fielding percentage of .967, with 128 assists and 105 putouts…finished the season strong, hitting .357 (15-for-42) over the final 13 games…went 5-for-11 (.455) with two RBI and a double in a series versus Long Beach State (May 6-8)…also went 5-for-11 in the season-ending series versus Arizona (May 27-29), with three RBI and one double…had three hit games versus Santa Clara (March 27), Long Beach State (May 7), and Arizona (May 29)…kept ninth inning rally going with an RBI single that made it a one run game vs Long Beach State (May 7).
Prior to UH: Played two seasons at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Ariz…was named an Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) All-Star and earned second-team all-ACCAC and first-team all-Region honors as a sophomore, batting .333, with 35 RBI, 39 runs scored…tallied eight home runs, nine doubles and six triples, with a team-leading .633 slugging percentage and a .452 on-base percentage… also logged 14 stolen bases…as a freshman, batted .280 in 48 games as a reserve infielder, posting 10 doubles, two triples and one home run, stealing 13 bases…left PVCC ranked third in the program records for career doubles and triples, reaching second in career and single-season home runs…off the field, he was part of the Honors Program, received the Presidential Honors Scholarship, was a member of the Phi-Theta Kappa Honor Society and was a Scholar-Athlete selection…during summer 2015, he was named to the Perfect Game Summer Collegiate All-America Team as a second team selection after starring for the Southern California with current UH teammate Alex Sawelson…for the Catch, he recorded the team’s top batting average (.420) and was among the California Collegiate League (CCL) leaders, topping the team in hits (58), doubles (17), home runs (6), RBI (32), runs (35), slugging percentage (.674) and on-base percentage (.471), also stealing 11 bases…selected to the CCL All-Star Team and was named among the Top 20 Prospects in the CCL by
Baseball America…in addition, was chosen to join the Cotuit Kettleers roster for five games during Cotuit’s Cape Cod Baseball League playoff push.
Prep: A 2013 graduate of Millennium High School in Goodyear, Ariz., where he was a three-year letterman and starter at third base…also lettered one year in both soccer and football…wrapped up at MHS with a .382 career batting average, .485 on-base percentage and 11 home runs…during his senior year, he batted .379, scoring 38 runs with 18 RBI, eight doubles, two triples, four home runs and 11 stolen bases…received 5A Desert West first-team all-Region honors as a senior, in addition to 5A Division I first-team all-Section I honors as a junior…also received football honors as a first-team all-Section 3 selection at Wide Receiver…was a member of YoungLife in high school.
