Prep: A 2009 graduate of Gahr High School in Cerritos, Calif...a three-year letterwinner...a two-time league MVP...for his career, threw for 8,236 yards and 73 touchdowns, ranking 13th all-time in the state of California…during senior season, threw for 3,032 yards and 30 touchdowns…averaged 303.2 yards per game...threw for four or more touchdowns in five games…one of 50 players selected as a National Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year…second-team all-CIF southern section...selected to play in the inaugural Hawai‘i/Polynesia-Mainland Bowl....as a junior, led the state and ranked third in the nation in passing after throwing for 4,363 yards and 35 touchdown passes...completed 65-percent of his passes and had only five interceptions…threw for over 400 yards in five games, including a 453-yard, six-touchdown performance...led Gahr to a 10-3 record and the CIF-SS Western Division semifinals for the first time in school history…named to the Press Telegram first team “Dream Team” and first-team all-CIF southern section...also named all-state by Max Preps, Cal-HI Sports and Golden State Preps...a four-year honor-roll student...class valedictorian.

Personal: Born in Torrance, Calif....major is undecided...uncle, Jon Nielsen, played one season at quarterback for the Oakland Raiders...has two younger brothers...parents are Cheryl and Don Nielsen of Cerritos, Calif.
