HONOLULU – The Hawai'i women's track and field team continues its outdoor campaign this week in Southern California, competing at the UCR Spring Classic in Riverside.
The one-day meet, hosted by UC Riverside, will feature a full contingent of Rainbow Wahine athletes as they look to capitalize on a strong opening weekend of outdoor season in San Diego.

The Rainbow Wahine enter the week following a standout performance at the Aztec Coastal Track Classic and PLNU Sea Lion Invite, where the squad combined for four program top-10 marks. Leading the way was the 4x100m relay team of
Tara Wyllie,
Robyn Larkan,
Amelie Fairclough, and
Kristin Cook, who clocked a 46.38 to tie for the seventh-fastest time in Hawai'i history.
In individual events,
Marissa Crane moved into ninth all-time in program history in the 400m dash with a time of 56.51. The distance crew also made its mark on the record books as
Izzy Gorton ran the eighth-fastest 800m in school history, stopping the clock at 2:10.18, and
Tara Wyllie matched her program fifth-best mark in the 100m hurdles at 14.11.
Additionally,
Samaria Vital and
Rose Forshaw claimed a 1-2 finish in the discus, with Vital's mark of 48.29m (158-5) leading the field.
Lilian Turban led the way in the shot put at the PLNU Sea Lion Invite, leading a 1-2-4 UH finish with a toss of 14.45m (47-5) to finish just ahead of Forshaw (13.93m, 45-8.5) and Vital (13.46m, 44-9).
Following this week's action, UH will return home to prepare for the Stanford Invitational and Mike Fanelli Classic, Apr. 3-4 in the Bay Area.
