LAS VEGAS — Coming off a record-breaking freshman season, University of Hawai'i guard
Bailey Flavell was named to the 2026-27 Preseason All-Mountain West Women's Basketball Team on Wednesday.
The conference revealed its preseason awards and polls leading into Wednesday's Mountain West Basketball Media Day at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Flavell and junior center
Ritorya Tamilo are representing the 'Bows at Mountain West Media Day, along with first-year head coach
Khalilah Mitchell.
UH is entering its inaugural season in the Mountain West, and Flavell was voted to the 10-player preseason team. Flavell led the 'Bows in scoring with 12.6 points per game and earned Big West Freshman of the Year and second-team All-Big West honors last season. Her total of 415 points surpassed the program's previous freshman scoring record set by Judy Mosley in 1987, and she became just the fifth freshman in program history and the first since the 2010-11 season to lead the 'Bows in scoring. Flavell also led the team with 43 3-pointers and 96 free throws made.
As a team, UH was voted fourth in the Mountain West's preseason poll. UNLV topped the poll with 193 points, followed by Grand Canyon (180), UC Davis (127) and UH (125).
UH will make its public debut in an exhibition game against Hawai'i Pacific on Oct. 21 and officially open the 2026-27 season at Oregon on Nov. 2. The 'Bows will face Saint Mary's in their home opener on Nov. 13 and embark on the Mountain West season at home against Nevada on Dec. 30.
