IRVINE, Calif. – The Hawai'i women's track and field team opened action at the Steve Scott Invitational Friday with several strong performances highlighted by several program top 10s.
Lilian Turban highlighted early action on the field by taking home the victory in the javelin. The senior posted a personal best mark of 45.85m (150-5) to win by over a full meter and move into fifth in UH history in the process.
Rose Forshaw followed close behind Turban in fourth with a toss of 41.16m (135-0).
Lucy Milliner and
Ruby Brook turned in strong efforts in the 800m, led by Milliner's runner-up finish in 2:07.10, just .05 seconds off her personal best and No. 2 mark in school history. Brook posted a PR and moved into seventh in the UH top 10 with a time of 2:09.91.
Danielle Baumann cracked the Hawai'i top 10 in the long jump with a huge PR, recording a jump of 5.83m (19-1.5) to move into the No. 9 spot in UH history.
The Rainbow Wahine wrap up action at the Steve Scott Invitational with action starting Saturday at 8 a.m. HT.
