SACRAMENTO – The Hawai'i women's track and field team got its outdoor season off to a strong start, led by
Helen Hoadley's school record in the pole vault Friday at the Hornet Invitational.
Hoadley cleared 4.18m (13-8.5) to break Tiziana Ruiz-Dominguez's record from 2016 while topping her own previous outdoor PR of 4.05m. The senior now holds the program pole vault record both indoors and outdoors. Freshman
Lindsey Koch also entered the UH top 10 in her first collegiate outdoor meet, clearing 3.83m (12-6.75) to move into 10th in school history.
The Rainbow Wahine added four more program top 10s to the record books on the opening day of the outdoor season.
Catherine Touchette moved into the 400m hurdles top 10 with a time of 1:00.99 to take over sixth in school history.
True freshman
Lucy Milliner cracked the school top 10 in the 800m, jumping all the way up to No. 2 in program history with a time of 2:07.05. Milliner is the first Hawai'i runner to run under 2:10 in the outdoor 800m in 20 years, with the last coming courtesy of Kelly Young in 2005 with a school record time of 2:06.53.
Another true freshman posted a top 10 mark in her first outdoor meet as
