SEATTLE – Freshman
Lucy Milliner shattered the program mile record to highlight a solid day of action by the Hawai'i distance crew to close out action at the UW Preview Saturday.
Milliner lowered the school mile record – either indoors or outdoors – by over six seconds with a time of 4:47.05, besting the previous mark of 4:53.35 (Dana Buchanan, 2005). She placed second in her heat and 24th overall in the invitational section of the Mile City event.
Emilie Kirk Langschwager also delivered a strong run, moving up the UH indoor top 10 to No. 3 with a time of 4:55.88, topping her previous best indoor mile time by nine seconds.
Four other Rainbow Wahine ran sub-5:20 miles in the open section of the Mile City event.
Sariah Hernandez clocked a time of 5:08.60 while
Zola O'Donnell ran a time of 5:11.99. Two other freshman delivered strong efforts to close out their first collegiate track meets.
Gemma Warman ran a time of 5:14.41 while
Lucy Becker finished with a time of 5:15.44.
The Rainbow Wahine return home before heading back to Seattle for the UW Invite, Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
