Five Rainbow Wahine Named Academic All-District

The Hawai'i women's track and field team secured five spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team Tuesday, as Helen Hoadley, Hallee Mohr, Lilian Turban, Tara Wyllie and Amy Warrington were all honored.
 
This marks the second straight year that five Rainbow Wahine earned CSC Academic All-District recognition while giving the program 22 all-time honorees.
 
In order to secure academic all-district recognition, student-athletes must own a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 while sitting in the top 50 in the region in any event.
 
Helen Hoadley, Junior, Pole Vault, Mechanical Engineering
  • Won the MPSF Indoor Pole Vault title
  • Set the indoor school record in the event at the MPSF Championships with a mark of 4.10m
  • Moved into third all-time in UH history in the outdoor pole vault with a height of 4.05m
 
Hallee Mohr, Senior, Discus, Kinesiology & Rehab Science
  • Achieved second-team All-America status with an 11th place national finish in the discus
  • Set the program record in the discus with a toss of 58.25m to win her second career Big West title
  • Finished fifth at the NCAA West Regional with a throw of 58.02m to advance to the NCAA Championships
  • Has qualified for the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials set for June 24 in Eugene, Ore.
 
Lilian Turban, Junior, High Jump, Communications
  • Earned second-team All-America honors in the indoor high jump with a 10th place finish at the NCAA Championships
  • Won the MPSF Indoor High Jump title with a mark of 1.86m
  • Has reached All-America status indoors and outdoors after earning outdoor high jump All-America honors in 2023
 
Tara Wyllie, Sophomore, Triple Jump, Kinesiology & Rehab Science
  • Won the MPSF Indoor Triple Jump title with a mark of 12.46m
  • Moved into second all-time at UH both indoors and outdoors in the triple jump, with a 12.77m mark outdoors and a 12.46m mark indoors
  • Qualified for the NCAA West Regional outdoors
 
Amy Warrington, Senior, Sprints, Human Development & Family Studies
  • Helped lead the Rainbow Wahine to conference relay titles in the 4x400 indoors and outdoors and the 4x100 outdoors
  • A part of school record-setting relays in the indoor 4x400m relay and the outdoor 4x100m relay
  • Scored points at a conference championship meet in three events (indoor 200m, 400m; outdoor 400m)
