SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Hawai'i women's track and field team will look to get off to a strong start at the conference championship meet beginning with the Big West Multis Championship Friday and Saturday.

Catherine Touchette,
Anna Marx and
Grace Blanchette all sit in the top eight of the conference in the heptathlon with Gordon leading the conference with 5,295 points
Additionally, UH ranks fourth nationally in the USTFCCCA Event Squad Rankings in the heptathlon as one of four schools nationally to have four athletes score over 4,500 points in the heptathlon this year. Gordon also ranks second all-time at UH in the heptathlon while Marx is eighth with 4,748 points and Touchette is ninth at 4,742.
Gordon and Touchette have also combined to set three school heptathlon individual event records. Gordon owns the UH heptathlon 200m and long jump records, running a 24.46 in the 200m and matching a program-best with a long jump performance of 5.81m, both at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Touchette ran a 2:13.42 in the 800m to set the school heptathlon record in that event, also coming at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Following this weekend's action, the full squad will join the heptathletes for the Big West Championships, May 10-11 in San Luis Obispo.
