STANFORD/HAYWARD, Calif. – The Hawai'i women's track & field team endured a wet and windy weekend in the Bay Area but still managed to post a number of top 10 marks and break a nearly 40-year old school record at the Stanford Invitational and Mike Fanelli Classic.
The Rainbow Wahine 4x100m relay team broke a school record that was set back in 1985 with a time of 45.64 seconds.
Kristin Cook,
Amy Warrington,
Alyssa Mae Antolin and
Isabella Kneeshaw got around the track .09 seconds faster than the squad of Diane Kawahara, Runa Engle, Angela Williams and Gwen Gardner. The time also stands as the No. 2 mark in the conference.
UH also put up three more No. 2 marks in school history over the weekend.
Emilie Kirk Langschwager led the distance crew with a 16:47.86 in the 5k while
Tara Wyllie jumped 12.77m (41-10.75) in the triple jump and the 4x400m relay team of Warrington, Antolin,
Sammie Gordon and Kneeshaw ran a conference-leading 3:41.39.
Jessica Mackenzie and Kneeshaw both entered the UH top 10 lists in the javelin and 400m, respectively.
Hawai'i also owns four Big West-leading marks after adding new top marks in the 4x400m relay and on Wyllie's triple jump. Gordon still leads the conference in the 400m hurdles with a 59.61 while
Hallee Mohr paces the league in the discus with a toss of 52.08m (170-10).
