DAVIS, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i track and field team began the Big West Championships today with the women's heptathlon at Woody Wilson Track at the host site UC Davis.
The Rainbow Wahine has two athletes, sophomore
Sammie Gordon and sophomore
Anna Marx, who competed on day one of the heptathlon.
After completing the first day, both Gordon and Marx sit in a tie for sixth place, as they each have accumulated 2709 points.
Gordon's highest point value came from a win in the 200m dash, with a time of 25.84, earning her 811 points. She also took fourth in the high jump as she cleared 5'01" for 678 points.
Marx's most points came from her eighth-place finish in the 100m hurdles, accruing 810 points. She also finished fourth in the high jump with a 5'01" like her teammate.
Competition resumes tomorrow with the long jump and javelin events left to determine a winner.
