LONG BEACH, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's outdoor track and field team wrapped up their two-day competition at the Beach Opener in Long Beach, Calif., Saturday afternoon.
"Overall, it was an excellent opener, despite the windy and unseasonably cold weather," head coach
Tim Boyce said. "It was great to get some more all-time numbers, a first-place finish, and have some outdoor marks in the books!"
Headlining the day was freshman jumper
Lilian Turban who placed first during her outdoor debut in the women's high jump. She cleared a height of 5' 10" and leaped her way to the 6th position all-time in school history.
Sophomore sprinter and O'ahu native
Amy Warrington earned herself an eighth-place finish with a time of 58.49 in the 400-meter dash.

Kate Borsz grabbed herself a sixth place in the shot put event with a mark of 41' 3", a new personal best.
