NEW ORLEANS – The University of Hawai'i track and field team was named one of the All-Academic teams by the 2021 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.
The awards were given to 51 track and field programs that competed outdoors in 2021. The Rainbow Wahine's 3.27 team GPA helped them make the list.
Earlier this summer,
Olivia Hill was named the top scholar on the Rainbow Wahine squad, posting the top GPA on the roster. Just 10 days ago, 14 UH track and field athletes were named Academic All- Big West for each having a GPA over 3.30 during the 2020-21 school year.
The track and field team is coming off one of it's most impressive showings at the Big West Championships with three medalists and one of the highest point scoring results at the conference meet since joining the Big West.
