HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i track and field team opened 2020 with the first of two Sunrise meets this year at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex on Saturday.
"Today's efforts help us to finalize our first set of athletes to represent UH indoors this season next weekend in Nampa," Hawai'i head coach
Tim Boyce said. "There were some really solid performances today to open 2020."
Hawai'i returned to practice Jan. 13th and utilized the meet as a table-setting meet to lay the foundation for the year. Rainbow Wahine posted solid marks across the board for the first meet of the year and now know approximately where they would sit in the indoor performance list when they compete indoor for the first time next weekend.
The Wahine had competitors in the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 300-meter dash, 600 meters, 1,500 meters, 3,000 meters, 60-meter hurdles, 1,600-mete relay, and every field event.
Sophomore
Kristen LaCosse posted the top time in the 60 with a time of 7.85 seconds. Senior
Calli-Ann Abbott ran the fastest 200 in 26.18 seconds, freshman
Amy Warrington threw down the fastest 300 time in 43.18 and senior
Teuila Gardner ran the fastest 600, cross the finish line in 1 minute, 38.19 seconds.
