LONG BEACH, Calif. – The University of Hawaiʻi women's track and field team capped its most recent California road trip with the final day of the Beach Invitational on Saturday.
Martina Latting set a personal record in the 100m in 12.01 as Hawaiʻi's top finisher in the event.
Raion Black was not far behind with a 100m time of 12.04. Freshman
Malia Miley turned in a lifetime-best performance in the 100m in 12.51.
In the 200m, Latting clocked in at 25.14 to lead the way, followed by
Calli-Ann Abbott in 25.44 and
Malia Miley with a personal record of 25.67. Abbott also ran a 14.05 in the 100m hurdles, not far ahead of
Kristen LaCosse in 14.14.
Natasha Currence clocked in at 58.91 in the 400m, while LaCosse secured a long jump mark of 5.79m (19') on the day.
Next week, the Rainbow Wahine will make a return trip to California to compete in the Steve Scott Invitational set for Friday, April 26 – Saturday, April 27 in Irvine, Calif.
