HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team will make a return trip to Seattle to compete in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Track and Field Championships scheduled for Feb. 22-23 at Dempsey Indoor.
The Rainbow Wahine have improved their position in the final standings at the MPSF Championships in each of the last four seasons. At last year's event, UH secured 13th place with 10 points.
So far this season, UH has hosted the Sunrise Meet #1 as well as participated in road indoor meets in Seattle, Wash. and Nampa, Idaho.
Last time out on Feb. 9 at the Bronco Challenge,
Martina Latting set the school record for the 60m in 7.75. It is the second time this season that the 60m record has fallen.
Raion Black ran a 7.77 at the UW Invitational to set the mark in the first indoor meet.
UH has three student-athletes with indoor marks that rank in the top 30 in the MPSF this season.
Calli-Ann Abbott is 20th in the 60m hurdles (8.63),
Meg Jackson is 24th in the shot put (12.47m – 40'11") and
Nina Bean is 29th in the pole vault (3.56m – 11'8").
