Game Notes
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team will play its first Big West Conference home game of the season on Thursday when Cal. State Fullerton visits the Stan Sheriff Center for a 7:00 p.m. (HT) tip-off.
Â
The Rainbow Wahine enter the game at 4-10 overall and 0-2 in Big West play after dropping road games at Long Beach State and UC Davis last week. Hawai'i boasts one of the top defenses in the Big West, leading the conference in 3-point field goal percentage defense (27.8 percent), ranking second in the league in field goal percentage defense (38.2 percent), and fourth in scoring defense (64.6 points per game). The Hawai'i offense, on the other hand, has been slow. The Rainbow Wahine average 55.9 points per game while shooting 34.7 percent from the field, both league-lows.
Â
The Titans are 3-12 on the season and 0-2 in the Big West after losses to CSUN and UC Santa Barbara last week. Iman Lathan leads the team with 16.6 points per game while Daeja Smith adds 10.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. CSU Fullerton will be looking for its first road win of the season, entering the week with an 0-6 mark in road games.
Â
Thursday's contest is Hawai'i's only game this week. The Rainbow Wahine will return to action next week with a road trip to Cal Poly (Jan. 19) and UC Santa Barbara (Jan. 21).
