2015 Big West Men's Championship BracketINDIAN WELLS, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (6-13, 0-5 Big West) will stay on the road this week for the Big West Championship which will once again be held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The No. 6 Rainbow Warriors will open against No. 62 and third-seeded UC Santa Barbara in the first round of the tournament on Thursday, April 23 at 9:00 a.m. The tourney runs through Sunday, April 26.

Hawai'i is looking to make a strong showing at the tournament in which they finished in second to Cal Poly last season, falling 4-1 in the championship match. Senior
Nils Schuhmann leads UH with a 6-8 dual match record and is 2-2 in conference matches this season. He has played at the No. 1 singles position all season. Freshman
Felix Albert has returned from injury recently and is hoping to make some noise in the conference tournament. He is 6-5 in dual matches and is 4-4 in his last 10 matches. He is a perfect 3-0 at the No. 4 slot. Seniors
Chas Okamoto and
Carter Lam both have recorded five wins in singles this season with Okamoto playing mostly on the No. 2 court and Lam seeing the most time at No. 3

In doubles, the most successful duo for Hawai'i has been Albert and Okamoto with a 7-7 overall mark and a 7-4 record in dual matches. Due to Injury, Albert has missed about a month of matches, and all but one conference match against UC Irvine which went unfinished. UH's No. 1 team currently has
Marcel Chan and
Carter Lam teamed up together. They are 3-4Â overall and 2-2 in conference. Hawai'i's No. 2 duo of
Joakim Pinola and Schuhmann is 3-2 and 1-1 in conference.

No. 62 UC Santa Barbara (12-9, 3-2 Big West)
The Gauchos have won eight of their last 12 matches—including a 6-1 win over conference rival No. 50 Cal Poly last week. UCSB's Teague Hamilton has 20 singles wins this season and is a perfect 9-0 on the No. 6 court. Two other Gauchos—Morgan Mays and Cody Rakela—have 19 singles wins already under their belt with Mays at 19-13 and Rakela with a 19-9 record. Rakela is a perfect 5-0 in conference while Mays is 4-1.

In doubles, UCSB's No. 1 duo is Tobias Galskov and Ziad Sultan are 6-11 overall while the No. 2 team of  Nathan Eshmade and Erik Johnsson is 12-6 overall with a 10-4 mark in dual matches. Andrew Riminton and Mays have been the most successful, with an 11-4 record mostly at the No. 3 position. They are a perfect 3-0 in the Big West.
