2017-18 (Senior):
-Became just the third student-athlete from the University of Hawai‘i to ever earn multiple CoSIDA Academic All-American Awards joining only Annett Wichmann (women’s track and field – 2007, ’08, 09) and Costas Theocharidis (men’s volleyball – 2002, ‘03).
-Earned Academic All-American first team honors after recording a perfect grade-point average while double majoring in finance and international business.
-Named to the all-Big West second team in both singles and doubles.
-Recorded an overall singles dual match record of 5-9
-Won three of his final four matches and went 2-0 in conference matches
-Played all of this matches on the No. 2 court
-In doubles, posted a 3-8 overall record—going 2-7 with partner and fellow senior Fabian Woehrl, 1-0 with Blaz Seric, and 0-1 with Lucas LaBrunie
-Played nine doubles matches at No. 1 and three at No. 2.
-On UH’s Senior Day and conference home opener, clinched both the doubles point (with Woehrl) and the match with a dramatic, come-from-behind, three set win over UC Davis’ David Goulak at No. 2 (3-6, 6-2, 6-3)
2016-17 (Junior):
-Earned all-Big West first team after garnering honorable mention honors in singles last year.
-UH's Big West Scholar-Athlete of the Year earlier this season
-Won three of his last four conference matches to post a 3-2 Big West record.
-Overall in dual matches Albert was 4-12. He played thirteen matches on the No. 1 court and four at No. 2.
-Best wins in singles came from the No. 1 court against Marko Goles-Babic (San Diego State) in a three set battle 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 and his clinch against conference rival UC Riverside's Kyle McCann 6-3, 6-4
-Competed in 11 doubles matches with partners Igor Kolaric, Ruben Blattner, and Marcel Chan
-With partner Marcel Chan, posted a 3-4 overall record and went 1-1 in conference matches
-He ended the regular season by receiving a Big West's Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week Award (April 26) after recording a 2-0 singles record with wins over UC Riverside and UC Irvine
-Was the first men's tennis player to ever earn College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Division I At-Large honors
-One of 15 athletes to be selected to the All-American third team and was one of just five student-athletes with a 4.0 G.P.A. or better
-Albert became just the second Rainbow Warrior tennis player to earn CoSIDA All-District VIII honors on the second team joining UH alum Andreas Weber who earned all-District second team honors in 2008
2015-16 (Sophomore):
-Earned all-Big West honorable mention honors in singles and all-BWC second team honors with doubles partner Marcel Chan
-Competed in 15 overall singles matches while posting a 2-10 overall record in dual matches and a 1-4 mark in conference all on the No. 1 court. Three matches went unfinished and four of his losses were in three sets—two by tie-breaker.
-Played all 14 doubles matches at No. 1—six matches partnered with Kai Wehnelt and eight matches with Marcel Chan.
-With Wehnelt, posted a 2-3 overall record with back-to-back wins over No. 55 San Francisco’s Nils Skajaa and Vasco Valverde, 6-4 (Jan. 16). and Utah’s Egbert Weverink and Santiago, 6-4 (Jan. 17).
-posted a 0-4 mark with Chan with four matches going unfinished.
-Named a UH Scholar-Athlete with highest honors and was the men’s tennis team’s top team scholar-athlete.
2014-15 (Freshman):
-Competed in 15 singles and 16 doubles matches
-Recorded a 7-8 overall singles record while going 6-6 in dual matches
-Tallied an 0-1 mark in Big West action
-Went 1-1 on the No. 3 court; 3-1 while playing No. 4; and 2-4 at No. 5
-Posted first collegiate win over No. 39 Louisville’s Stjepan Cagalj (Jan. 8) in a three set thriller, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4
-In doubles, notched a 9-7 overall record while going 8-4 in dual matches
-Primarily partnered with Chas Okamoto, played five matches at No. 2 and seven at No. 3
-On the No. 2 court, Albert and Okamoto went 3-2, while the duo found their best success at No. 3 with a 5-2 record
-Strung together a four-match win streak with partner Okamoto from Jan. 18-28
-Earned his first career Big West Athlete of the Week honor (Mar. 11) after claiming the decisive points for Hawai‘i in a pair of victories over UMKC and Cleveland State.
Prep:
-A 2014 graduate of JSG Karlstadt in Karlstadt, Germany
-Played tennis, volleyball, handball, and swam in high school
-Posted a career singles record of 184-62 and a career doubles mark of 43-18
-In final season went 7-2 in singles
-Recorded the highest graduation score with a 4.0 GPA
-Earned the Badge of Honor for performance in Latin final exam
-Granted membership in the German Physics Association because of performance in physics in last two years of high school
