TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its 2026 All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes on Monday. The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team earned ITA All-Academic Team honors, while five Rainbow Warriors—
Adriano Dzhenev,
Timothy Li,
Toa Maeda,
Kent Mueller, and
Hikaru Takahashi—all earned ITA All-Academic awards.
The Rainbow Warriors have been named an ITA All-Academic Team a total of 10 times (2010, '12, '13, '14, '15, '19, '22, '23, '25, and '26). Since 1983, the men's team has had 41 individual players earn a total of 60 ITA Scholar-Athlete awards.
Hawai'i's Li earned his fifth ITA Scholar-Athlete award after garnering the academic honor four times while playing at UCLA from 2021–24.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements: have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements: have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
